Love On a Dish

Feeling dramatic, and frustrated after days spent sick in bed, I decided to photograph my hand reaching up to the window...longing to be out in the world. I felt lonely; separated from humanity.

But this mood was fleeting...

Rosie, my sweet twelve year old girl, my child who has been sick for months, was standing right next to me with the perfect grilled cheese sandwich. A meal she made for me and placed right on my bed (careful not to touch me...in case I'm still contagious).

And so...Here's to Love On a Dish

-a reminder of the blessings we might miss if we only look out windows and forget to see what's right here in the room.

  1. Now that looks like the best grilled cheese sandwich, EVER. Great bread!

I didn't tell you that I had shingles when I was 12 years old. I was a very stressed child. It was a very uncomfortable condition that I recovered from pretty quickly. I understand that it is unusual for children to get this and that it hits adults harder. I've been fortunate to not have anything like it since.

I hope you get the green light very, very soon. The fresh air tomorrow will do you a world of good.

  2. Thanks Kathryn. An old friend of mine from college, who KNOWS we are vegetarians and observant Jews told me it looks like a pork chop! He was totally bustin' my "chops" but when I look at it again, I can imagine how he might think that..the George Forman Grill marks could sway one to make that conclusion! LOL!

I am indeed looking forward to cold NH air on my face this morning! (and this is saying something, as you know, I HATE the cold weather!)
gentle steps as continue with your Creative Journey Game board today!
