It's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Darkness Provides

Gazing out the window into
black

pierced by
distant
clusters
of twinkling lights

huddled

discreet

not blazing

not glaring
respectful of the secret sacredness
darkness provides

Our eyes adjust as we turn
away

now toward

intimacy

facing fears

frailty

searching for familiar
for known

safe within the
sanctuary
darkness provides

so I ask you:

what is the
blessing
harbored
in this mysterious
moonless

winter night?

and I tell you:

discovering
that our own
holy

interior light
has been
beaming all along
in this body
this refuge

YES

darkness provides

May your holy-days be filled with abundant joyful light! ~Laura

  15. Laura,
Seeing that light within us is so, so moving. Maybe on those dark nights, maybe that's when it really gets a chance to shine and be seen. Laura, know that I am thinking of you and wish you much peace, love, and joy as we approach the new year.
