Small Sweet Blessings

wild white violet
delicately balanced on
a whisper of stem

an impossible thread
thin stalk supports the blossom
head slightly bent down

perhaps her own prayer
gratitude in this moment

for small sweet blessings

What small blessings have you witnessed this morning?

The poem and photo above are mine, but my blogging friend Nina has collaborated with photographer Brenda Washington to create a book of photography and poetry that they would very much like to see published. Please consider casting a vote for these two gifted women in The Next Top Spiritual Author contest.

  1. Very beautiful. I hope you are well today :) xJ

  2. in a sad funk today...sometimes I get depressed reading blogs...It feeds into the very thing I'm sad about. I feel others are so lucky with beautiful familys and that they have a joy of living that I seem to lack..oh woe is me...I know pathetic but there you have it. I'm breathing in the safe etc. but sometimes the blogs and the shiny happy people make me sadder.

  3. what a nice post, I'm off to click on your links

  4. Violets are so pretty. And your poem is lovely, Laura. Too many small blessings to count this morning starting with the glorious sunrise.

  5. So beautiful, Laura! The most beautiful small blessing this morning was a dove cooing outside the window where I was working. It is a sound of my childhood and immediately fills me with calm and joy! And now I am sending some of that your way!! Much love, Silke

  6. Your poem is beautiful. The petals remind me of 2 cupped hands with an offering to the sky.

  7. Oh my dearest Laura, I am inspired by your words and wisdom's. You have such a beautiful soul and see the glories of the world as only you can do. You choose to share them with others to inspire and encourage us to be in the Glory of the Divine. You are truly touched by the Angels and a gift from God.

I am humbled and honored by your kinds words. Thank you from the depths of my heart for helping to get the word out about the contest. We all hare a Light to shine, and this is one dream to share mine.

Thank you again and many Blessings to you and yours. I am so glad you are able to write and blog again. Blessings. Love and Light, Nina P

  8. I noticed new, delicate leaves in my flower garden and remembered that I planted purple violets last year. Small sweet blessings....

  9. I feel the same way about these little beauties that dance in my yard each captured the essence so well in verse and image laura

  10. The blessing of seeing the first cherry blossom on a tree that hadn't yet opened earlier this morning... the sight of a tiny dove's feather floating to the ground...

    Lovely laura x
