equilibrium

when the world outside me moves too fast
and my mind inside is faster still
 I gradually find equilibrium knowing
that within all the distraction
I have a choices
I can allow it to bother me, make me dizzy, frightened, confused
or I can see the beauty of the colors & sounds & textures passing by
I may not be able to quiet it all down or create the stillness I desire
no, but I can love the abstract beauty of it all
I can open to clarity and stillness in the acceptance
of what
simply is

gentle steps,
Laura

ps. sorry I've not been round visiting your posts a lot lately...I'm really tired from being sick and the meds and well, I'm just doing the best I can. XO

  1. Blogging and commenting on others' blogs are always done "Without Obligation," as the blog phrase goes. Whatever you do or don't do is perfectly fine! Living life always comes first!

  9. You take care of you, Laura. I can't imagine what it must be like to view the world that way - even temporarily...but I love how you find the beauty in the abstract.

  10. You may have seen where I've said that one of my favorite mantras is "Receive what you are given." Your reaction to this uncontrolled movement that you're experiencing really exemplifies that. You control whatever you can, and you roll with the rest, taking whatever grace and beauty that you can find in the experience, where so many would simply be futilely raising their fists at the heavens. This is a beautiful lesson for all of us. Thank you, Laura. To echo Sharon: May you feel restful. May you feel peaceful and at ease.

  12. Laura,
If I ever experience vertigo I will think of this and you - and how you so gracefully navigate something that would freak me out, definitely! I do NOT like the sensation of being dizzy and do not handle it well. You invite me to take it to a new level - to find some "mindful moments" within it xo

I am truly hoping this is easing for you today.

  14. These photos are lovely. The words inspire. I pray that you may have grace for this time, but I'm still praying for it to lift.

P.S. Stop apologizing! We are happy just to see you existing here, right now.
