Creativity IS a Spiritual Practice

When we see through our hearts, we recognize that every single one of us is infused with creativity. Divine Sparks are embedded in everyone and everything. It's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Join me as we wake up to the sacred-ordinary blessings waiting to greet us each and every day.

Dancing in the Dark

The Dance
Of longing
For what is
Not
The Dance
Of looking beyond
And through
This flame
Burning before
My dim eyes
The Dance
-ing
Away
That prevents me
(at times)
From feeling
The warmth
Of my own skin
Or yours
The give
The take
The receiving
Of mindful
Sensual
Embodiment

The Dance I do
When mind is
Too full
The pull
Of not knowing
Spinning me
Into a spiral
Centrifical force
-ing me
Outside
Of center
Until I am
Separated
From REAL
Into parts
Now
From what
Was
Or could
Be
Might
Be
If only...

The
Dance
Of
Sacred
Ordinary
Human
BE
-ing
Human
We all
Fall prey to
The Dance

The Dance
I prayed
Long ago
Sway
-ing
To the drummers
And chant
Me
A flame
In God's name
The Dance
That has
Become
Internal
As my legs
No longer
Move the way they
Did
Only the way they
Do

That dance

And the next step
Doesn't really matter
Only
This
One
IS
Illuminated

My husband, Gordon's birthday is the 22nd of December. The flame of my heart was born on the day after Solstice, pretty much the beginning of fully ushering light back into the world in the northern hemisphere. He fills my world with light every day!

Happy Birthday My Love.

  2. Your poem is beautiful, heartfelt, wistful and peacefully accepting. I imagine me taking your legs and moving them in the dance, teaching them to remember again until they suddenly recall the steps and gain their own strength. Up you rise, tentative at first, until soon you're dancing with joyful abandon and we're dancing and laughing together. It makes me happy to think of us doing that!

Birthday blessings on your beloved Gordon!

  3. While the legs may not dance as they used to, the heart is dancing joyfully and beautifully, and that is what matters the most, the heart. Lovely.
