Welcome to the most recent followers of this blog. It is lovely to have your presence here! For those who've been following a while, it might be a few days before I give an update in regard to my doctor's appointment, this afternoon. I don't know what she'll say or how I'll feel after...might need some integration time...or not...again, I just don't know. And as my friend Toni Bernhard recommends, I am entering the appointment with "don't know mind"...open and listening to what my neurologist has to say. Thank you everyone for your continuous loving support. What a blessing to be part of a circle of love that wraps around the globe.
gentle steps,
laura

ps. Speaking of Toni, here is a link to a talk she gave in October that resonated deeply with me as I listened to it before bed last night. If chronic illness is an uninvited guest in your home and you are learning or wanting to learn how to make peace with your current situation, if you are a caretaker of a beloved who is sick, have a friend or family member who lives with an illness that just isn't going away and you want to better understand what life is like from their perspective, or if you are a medical professional, (perhaps ESPECIALLY, if you are a health care provider...be it medical or in the emotional well being field), I think it is well worth taking the time to sit with Toni for an hour (yes an HOUR...not so long compared to the day in day out-ness of chronic illness) listening, with deep presence to what she has to say. Although we do not have the same medical condition, a great deal of what she shares here is the essence of my experience as well. My guess is that it is pretty universal. Thank you Toni for opening your heart so warmly, with humility and wisdom. ♥
