Inviting the Shadows

When we invite shadows with hospitality,
we also open the gate of our heart to light.

  1. This is so lovely & soft, I like the quote.

One day you will visit, don't give up hope, but for now I'm so glad blog world can take us to so many places pain & stress free. Except my hip seize up a little if I sit too long!)

  2. Beautiful image and words - is this quote your own? So profound...

  3. Beautiful Laura...not always the easiest thing to do though because my mind has the tendancy to anticipate what is hiding in those shadows...not allowing my thoughts to run wild is key...being reminded that keeping my heart open and not closed up as a means of protecting myself, is a gift this morning.

I pray that peace and love are wrapped tightly around you this morning. (((Laura)))

  4. Interesting quote. Food for thought.

  5. This is one of the most beautiful and profound posts you've done. It's perfect in every way.

  8. hello you! This is one very beautiful thought, and i envy the image so much. Stay cozy.

ps i am so jealous you could be so flexible, as putting your feet to your head. I need to hit the mats. :)

  9. Lovely shot, Laura. We do need the dark to appreciate the light...

  10. Oh my goodness! That photo could not BE any more beautiful! And I love what you write - so true - without the shadows, there would be no light. Beautifully said, Laura!

  11. Gorgeous..peaceful..shadows and light.

  12. A lovely photograph ( the day definitely looks cold ) and your quote is equally beautiful.

  13. Amazing photo. I fully expect it will take me a lifetime to learn how to display this particular hospitality with grace. I have come to accept that I am a work in progress:)

  14. I very much like the softness of this photo.

A seeker of shadows one day
    Did trip as she went on her way;
    She picked herself up
    And dipped from a cup
    Of shadowy lemon parfait!

  15. I love your "shadow shot"--it is REALLY nice. Read your last post too and just wanted to say I hope your pain goes away. Again, your positive attitude is wonderful. Mickie

  16. This is a beautiful shadows shot and a perfect quote. Just lovely! I hope you have a great week :)

  17. Learning not to brace against the shadows. I puff myself up like a dog protecting its territory. The only way to come to it gracefully is take time to breathe with God. lots and lots of love-teri

  18. Stunning with it's sweeping beauty. I have been keeping my eye out for shadow shots but haven't really found one yet worthy of posting.
