Freedom is Love
released from the tangled cage of expectations
of how we think life should be
open to expansive possibility
more than we can imagine
with minds limited by past experiences
racing toward tomorrow
and yet we are offered
glimpses of grace
soul-windows of awareness allowing us to witness
the sweetness of this moment
transient and eternal
just this
only this magnificence
marveling at the spaciousness of an April sky
at sunset
an evening warmer than it’s "supposed to be”
sitting beside one’s daughter
fully present to the mystery
of moonrise
the brilliance of reflection
not simply the sun’s glow upon her hair

or the luminous moon 221,463 miles away
but our own light
hers, yours, mine
bouncing back
returning home
settling into our tender
human hearts
Love is Freedom
