I stepped inside a rose my beloved gave to me, twenty-three years of learning to dive deeper into the one person who accepts my flaws with more grace and forgiveness than I shall ever be able to offer myself.
I am filled with gratitude for this generous man who has learned to unfold my petals with delicate accuracy and kindness.
No matter how many times my slender, thorny, insecurities cause his love to bleed, he finds a way to soften my heart and our tears flow united down his shoulder, staining his shirt, but never the commitment we share for our marriage after all these years.
I love you Gordon.
(Our anniversary was actually yesterday, June, 4th, but I was having technical difficulties uploading images and also still feeling kind of yucky.)
