Words Become Wings

Words Become Wings: Twilight Abstract

Words become wings
Setting a caged soul
Free
Soaring from mind
Lifting a tender heart
High
Gliding with ease
Beyond a broken body’s
Sorrow

Words become wings
Coaxing a closed bloom
Open
Eyes and ears
Stir a forgotten dream
Awake
Fingers press keys
Transcribe a mute impression
Alive

Wings without words
Release a grateful song
Humming
Lips and throat
Vibrate a sweet melody
Riding
Winds of transformation
Transporting a renewed passion
Rebirth

  23. I love the flow, and the repetitive nature of each first line, as it sets the stage - grounding me to each new stanza. A comfort, which allows me to absorb the rest. Beautiful - thank you!

Laura, this stunning presentation began with a fantastic image...you could have stopped right there and I would have been most happy, but you followed through with a brilliant, honest, heart~felt and emotionally driven piece of writing that has touched this soul so very deeply. You have written the poem I have been longing to write. Thank you! This is the true power of these pieces we pen, and you have so beautifully scripted a new favorite for me!
