A River of Stones: July 12

Woke in my own bed beside my husband and dog this morning. The soft sighs of their sleepy respiration, a comfort I missed while traveling. Sipping my morning tea, Kukicha, brought to my room by my youngest daughter, an early riser, we slip into the ease of our summer routine. Sunday's tears have dried, this day will be peppered with simple tasks, a bath, suitcases to unpack,  the screen porch we didn't get to before leaving needs to be swept before cushions are set on the outdoor furniture, new books and borrowed ones, await our devoted attention.

Though this will be published on Tuesday, it is a small stone from Monday morning...I'm in my own time warp as I float down this lazy summer river. I am having difficulty with my external drive so photos are on hold until Gordon has time to mess with it for me. My hands are still on and off numb so typing is difficult right now for me. I start my new medicine on Thursday, a long day that includes six hours of observation with ekg's to watch my heart rate.  I'm hoping that Gilenya will agree with my body and do what it is supposed to do. I've missed staying in contact with friends through email and visiting my blogging buddies while traveling, we were so busy and didn't have internet service all of the time. I may just stop by with a to say hello until my hands settle down again.

  2. Good (God) morning to you, dear Laura. I love the tender energy in this post. You are being so kind and accepting of yourself and life as it is right now. :-) I hold high hopes with you that all will be well with the new meds. I'll hold you in prayer. I appreciate you and all that you do for so many by sharing your heart in this way. I'd call YOU a "heart tenderizer." xo

  10. laura, i have been with so many people who take their first dose of gilenya while i get my tysabri. ALL have done well, zero reactions. my ms nurse tells me the patients are doing well on it but as you know, there is no long term data post market. our group of patients have tolerated it well.

best wishes as you travel down this new path, one i hope will bring you better health & happiness.

  11. Is there anything better than a time warp in the summertime after a vacation? I can't think of a thing. Take re-entry slowly, rest, and prepare. As I have learned from you, just to be is a blessing.

  21. Glad you are home...and doesn't your own bed feel so good? I love coming home, even simply for that reason alone!

Will pray, Laura, for a good response to the new medicine and for your body to tolerate all the tests you must endure this week. You are in my thoughts.
