A River of Stones: July 15

Waking early to darkness as I often do, sound and touch reveal the world. The weight of a summer blanket and sheet against my tingling lower limbs, the coolness of predawn air breathing upon my arms and face, the perpetual white noise hum of fans in the girls rooms, the sighing exhalations of my beloved still dreaming beside me. I sit up silently offering my morning prayers of gratitude for the gift of a new day. All went well with my new medicine yesterday. I am tired, but hopeful.

  4. Wonderful news about your medicine working out! You are certainly an early bird though...the only times I get up before dawn are int he dead of winter when the sun comes up after 7:00 or if I'm heading to the airport at some un-Godly hour, otherwise forget it! lol

  6. Truly, truly a wonderful post to read. You are hopeful and your words are grounding. We should all live life so AWARE.

Your comment in a post below about crying over a former joy - about things you used to be able to do - well, I thank you for that. I breathed in the thought of that and let it settle within me. I hope it stays inside for a long time because it will make me a more appreciative and humble person.
