A Small Stone:
Comfort, and ease flow because of the way we direct our hearts not because of the outer circumstances of our lives, as we fantasize may be the case.
And Another:
The heart of the matter IS the matter, though each passing moment flows easily through the fingers of our minds like water, slipping away, lost then remembered, gently returned in a new glimpse of acute awareness. Gratitude is the gift that awakens and fills our souls with delight again and again.
I recently shared the first stone above with some friends in an email. I believe those words are as true in this moment as they were then and always will be. The River of Stones event for July may be ending today, but the pebbles of wisdom gathered will remain treasures of inspiration for me, as will the kindness you have all offered my family, one another and me during this month of healing.
Thank you Fiona and Kaspa for a beautiful thirty-one days of deep awareness. I look forward to the next gathering of stones.

ReplyDeleteI love this sentence. To be grateful, to acknowledge gratefulness, is what opens us up. I am deeply grateful that I "found" your blog and for the many precious words of wisdom and healing thoughts you have shared.
I think the saying holds very true. Love your heart shaped stone!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, I've come at the end of what sounds like a progression of inspiration, heart by heart. I love how you've arranged these gorgeous stones in your photograph; they remind me of the white coral that we like to collect on the beach and which, once home, remind us of warmth and light, heart to heart, stone to stone.
ReplyDeleteUtterly gorgeous. I am blessed to be a part of yourworld.
