River of Stones: July 4

Beneath the tree I sat shaded with an intriguing book, the ocean breeze gentle, scent of sap surprisingly pungent and pleasant. Then I noticed the page sticking to my fingers as I attempted to turn it. Pleasant shifted to unpleasant in a flash, followed by laughter, halting steps toward the pool as I eased my body down to the edge, hand cooled and cleaned in the blue water.

  2. Isn't tree sap THE hardest thing to get off of yourself? It drives me nuts, but at least it smells lovely!
