Open sky, expansive field, narrow band of trees between. Separation and connection, the bridge we humans navigate with or without conscious discernment, moment by moment, our field of vision continuously shifting, outward, inward, earthward, skyward, future, past, to just this breath, just this.
I have been posting regularly, but not visiting many blogs for quite some time. I want you to know that it is not a lack of caring or concern for all of you on my part. The blogging community is very much the community in which I have found beautiful and very real friendships. It is simply that my attention is focused on a narrow band of trees, my family. For now that's where it needs to be. Thank you all for your gentle, generous comments, your praise and prayers humble me. As often seems to be the case at my house, it doesn't rain, it monsoons...and then we have a brief intermission before the next deluge. Perhaps it is the same for many of you? I will continue to post, as self expression heals, holds and grounds me. I hope that my words and images have a similar effect on you and are enough to maintain a connection between us until I am able to be more interactive again.
gentle steps,
Laura
Beautiful sky there!
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking of you, Laura and as always sending you god vibrations:)

I just sold a painting with the same title "field of vision" that looks remarkably similar in composition to your photo
ReplyDeleteI love your take on the band of trees being the bridge linking heaven and earth
may your bridge be planked firmly with boards of creative contemplation for the journey
Stunning fall shot, Laura!
ReplyDeleteKeep focusing on what's right for you now, and don't worry about the rest. I am grateful that you I will keep posting when you can, because I know I will continue to be encouraged and inspired by your thoughts. Hugs :-)
What a beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteI woke this morning and all the windows were shut - my connection with the outside now muffled.
Such is the nature of this life - we cannot connect to it all... except through faith. We are held together by the all but invisible thread of faith. Holding us steady when we feel adrift or consumed. You know we are here- you know you are where you need to be. hugs - teri

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photographs and philosophy as always Laura. Families as with life are always in a state of transition meaning parents very seldom ever get the chance to jut relax...
ReplyDeleteDear Laura, Your image is similar to my posting :) see we do not live far from one another.
ReplyDeleteMissing you and continually lifting you up in pray...
Take good care of yourself and your family, dear one. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI love that photo. This is my favorite time of year. There is so much beauty to absorb in such a short amount of time.
Love and hugs,
xoxoxo
I look forward to your posts and photos, no worries about having to interact. This is the season when we begin to coccoon.
ReplyDeleteIn friendship, in community, those who have strength lift up those who need strength. May you have all you need to navigate the seas you are traveling right now. I pray for you...
ReplyDeleteThis says Gilford to me.
ReplyDeletehi Laura. Love the image, the way the shadow looks almost deep as the sea on the landscape. Hope you are well. Was up your way most of October, the leaves didn't seem to be so brilliant this year but the scent and sights of home filled me to the core all through New England.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and joy to you in Heart.
Beautiful thoughts to compliment your picture. Thanks Laura.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you know monsoons have endings and we rarely drown in them. So swim well and take care of yourself.
You may know this is the right thing, I'm sure everyone will agree.
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun to visit and leave you little blog messages, in tiny little blog windows.
