With adult astonishment (and child-like wisdom) I realized the brilliant blue expanse of sky was nearer than I’d remembered just the day before. I saw it there-here, for heaven rests within a hand's breadth, held still in mirrored shards; frozen finger rivulets right beneath the muddied boots of an ordinary earthbound soul’s soles.
