It's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Chesed she b'Chesed

Tonight we begin to count the omer, forty-nine days, of awakening from the second evening of Pesach, a holy time of liberation toward deeper wisdom that we cultivate each day on our way toward Shavuot, receiving the Torah anew. For seven days times seven weeks we contemplate a different combination of the lower seven of the ten sefirot, Holy emanations. Each sefirah also represents a middah, a soul quality to explore and develop. The first sefirah/middah combination is chesed she b’chesed, lovingkindess within lovingkindness.

toward the center of Being
one within the ONE

i open my heart
to find love inside of love
chesed b’chesed

chesed b’chesed
lovingkindness holds

deep within each breath
expansively becoming
destiny fulfilled

we are grace in grace
v'chesed she b'chesed
who we've always been

one within the One
the heart of our hearts revealed
