Shine the Divine:

Creativity IS a Spiritual Practice

When we see through our hearts, we recognize that every single one of us is infused with creativity. Divine Sparks are embedded in everyone and everything. It's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Join me as we wake up to the sacred-ordinary blessings waiting to greet us each and every day.

fragments holy whole

tumult seeking rest
skies clear ocean rolling in
bubbling edge recedes

spit onto the shore
pocked cracked and broken
eviscerated

each gift an echo
released from former shell self
transformed by life’s sea

fragments holy whole
bathed in miles of salt tears
cleansed blessed sanctified

with reverence I step
around these treasures until
a new wave arrives

haiku my heart at recuerda mi corazon

We are at the beach and internet is really spotty. So if  you've sent me an email since Sunday and I haven't  responded this is the first I've been online since we left PA that morning. I'll be in touch when I have more steady access to the internet.

I've been able to walk on the beach every single day since we've been here and the heat isn't getting to me. It is an amazing experience after so many year of not being able to do this. I've even been able to swim in the ocean. I am full of gratitude and deeply aware of the transitory nature of all things. This strength of body could last another day, several weeks, months, who knows maybe a year...and it  may not. Each step upon the sand is a prayer, the footprints engraved briefly  then purified, swept clean away by the tide, whispering thank you, thank you, thank you.

  29. dear laura,
we leave similar prayers...and matching footsteps across the paths of daily life. we really do not know..and with this uncertainty we celebrate what we accomplish, the sun on our cheeks, the fresh and welcoming air as others would a holiday they have worked for all year.
i am so honored to be your friend.
i long for the day i too can walk on sand and move freely in the ocean. it has been way too long. you bring me such happiness knowing this simple pleasure is possible and true for you!

  31. Due to computer problems, I'm late with visiting the haiku-circle... but here I am, enjoying your wonderful photos and haiku. Feeling homesick when I see the waves. The sand. The shells... yep, I'm a 'beach girl living in the country, longing for home' at moments... enjoy the ocean, enjoy the healthy feeling, enjoy the energy, enjoy, enjoy and give my love to the waves
