Rain pours out a
steady viscous niggun, slow wordless song flowing from heaven to earth. This honeyed
music wakes me through the darkness of early morning. With gratitude I thank
the ONE for another day of living. Entering internal silence to meditate, the melody
of the world drenches my soul, quenches longing for other than. A temporary
arrangement I understand; yet for a few brief breaths it is evident that this
sweet lilting tune is me. I am the song, the “I” in unIverse, and therefore not
me or I at all... just pure honeyed awareness. Then I remember Chanukah begins
tonight, and thoughts pour back into my syrupy head, dark silence glows amber with
that spark and I feel the cushion beneath me and I am me and my family like
generations before us will light the first candle tonight and I see the
thinking, the stories, the... and gently return to breath. Later will happen
later, now I enjoy the cold air on my face, dreaming, waking, dreaming, waking;
the music plays on, the sky brightens to a muted nickel-violet-blue.

Shine the Divine:
Creativity IS a Spiritual Practice
When we see through our hearts, we recognize that every single one of us is infused with creativity. Divine Sparks are embedded in everyone and everything. It's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Join me as we wake up to the sacred-ordinary blessings waiting to greet us each and every day.

Happy Holidays sweetie;

ReplyDeleteOh sigh..this is beautiful... Laura..I want to thank you for all the help you have offered me and for everything here.. I found out this week that I have an early stage breast cancer and will need surgery. This has been such a difficult time and I hated..just hated telling my family especially my daughter this news. So I will be meditating and need to lower my stress even with this new health challenge...hugs to you and your family at this time of year...Michelle
