A winter walk at dusk ~grateful for every
limb am I for those that stretch dark across the grand expanse of richly hued
marbled sky and these that lift and step, transporting me through Creation’s
wonders; the art of science, love and faith in the Holy Blessed One; good
medicine, all have led me here.

love laid down to rest

This
morning is full of winter white, what a delight waking to a blanket of snow.
The photos on today's post however are from a few evenings ago, no snow, but
the glow of twilight instead. Last year and for several years in a row I had not have imagined a winter
walk at dusk would be possible for me. Remission is not a complete absence of
symptoms, I still have MS. and when I become fatigued this is as clear as when
I could not walk a foot or two without falling to the floor. Who knows how long
this will last? As I listen to the wind pick up outside I know it doesn't
matter. Everything is always changing. I'll be ok no matter what. I'll be ok
because I am loved.

Exquisite photos... I have drawn 'naked' trees since childhood, there is something so true and honest in their nakedness that doesn't hide behind flamboyant leaves and flowers ...
ReplyDeleteI have saved the 'berry nest' with precious poem to my desktop, to re-read, re-view, and open to whatever it continues to reveal.
Nice sky.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you.

I think your photos reflect the beauty you make sure to pause and see... what a blessing to be in remission - I can't imagine the joy you feel while taking these photos. Can you imagine what this world would be like if everyone had such joy for the every day things in our lives? To be content with a walk, a sunset, bare tree limbs.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your beautiful comments on my blog... seems we are on a similar wave length today. :)

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
You are loved indeed, dear Laura.
ReplyDeleteOnce again your post hit my heart. I've been grumbling and moaning and groaning because this has been one of the rainiest years on record ... everything is wet and gray and cold. I'm so tired of the rain, and spring seems so far away ...
When I really should be grasping the fullness of life - the beauty that surrounds me still - the love and joy I seem to misplace at odd times ... you have reminded me to take a "winter walk" of my own, and find my misplaced heart.
Thank you, dear friend. You are in my heart, thoughts and prayers.
Beautiful. Definitely worth bundling up for.

dear all,
ReplyDeletei started early friday with such a bright hope for the day. so many haiku to visit, so many bright promises to fulfill. my day turned quickly on its heels into what became a living hell. for the last three weeks i have been battling extreme health concerns, i share this only to explain why i have been so hard pressed in visiting and leaving comments. yesterday took me to the very edge and this morning although i made it through an adverse med reaction with horrible vertigo, i am weak and undone. i do not like to write about my health issues, something i combat everyday to stay upright and among the living. but i see more and more of our haiku family dwindling away and i am sure many may have mistaken why, and taken it personally that i have failed to visit. this morning i am going to stay up long enough to be sure you all know that you have brought me comfort in my darkest hours without even knowing. for your kindness and patience i thank you with all my heart.
xoxoxox,
rebecca
