return of the sun
with it growing pain reaches
teaches us patience
|
teaches us patience
even as our own desire grows
and we too must sit with lingering
snow aware yet resisting the itch scratching
our way out of this discomfort waiting so long
for our release when spirits will
blossom in song

ReplyDeleteHello Laura! I saw your name in my following list, thank you!
ReplyDeleteWe here in the eastern part of Finland have to wait still many weeks before a real spring will start but the is shining already so high above the horizon and warming our hearts. In the end of March the sun is high enough for melting snow slowly.
Your photos are really fine!

ReplyDeleteHi sweetie, just stopped by to send hugs. Beautiful post. Sending lots of love to you and Ellie, life does get messy. Having had an elderly dog and losing him 1 1/2 years ago, I know too well how hard it is. many prayers going up. xoxo
ReplyDeleteLaura, you have an eye...nice soft touch on your photos!
ReplyDeleteI pray for a swift and full recovery for your beautiful dog. Beautiful words as always.
ReplyDeletepateince. Nature does teach us that. I just went through caring for a sick dog.. she really wasn't that old. I didn't mind the time it took to care for her - I'd pet he and look into her eyes. She was happy, and I knew when it was time - she "told" me in her own way. We had a nice grace period of saying goodbye. I hope your dog gets better, but all stages are precious, if we allow them to be.
ReplyDeleteStunning winter photos - I LOVE birch bark.
Oh again..inspiration... thank you for linking into Nature Notes Laura... hugs..Michelle
ReplyDeleteWinter is never too long for me, Laura. No doubt that is because it is so mild. Summer? Well, that is an entirely different story. I'm already dreading summer.

ReplyDeleteI'm reading lots of meaning in these words! I have done my share of waiting and am learning the precious lessons, I think! Not always easy! Warm wishes. x
ReplyDeleteLovely anticipatory sentiments about Spring, Yet I look at the landscape where I live and wallow in Winter. And when I think of the meanings of the cycle of life, I am grateful and accept what is in front of me. I'll see and feel and even hear what you describe soon enough and that thought is a fine one.
ReplyDeletePeace
Often pain and patience seem to be inextricably interwoven--and how we wish it were not so!
