I Heart Macro Week 4

delicate bells ringing
their fragrant perfume song
teasing taste of summer’s hot heady breezes
yet to come drifts through windows open dreaming
forward in the midst of spring’s still magnificent waltz
lilting toward languid days we could savor this moment fresh
dwell with yellow-green leaves wee white lilies graciously
offering faerie nectar instead listen to
 their fragrant perfume song
 delicate bells ringing

"Pure awareness transcends thinking... It allows you to look at the world once again with open eyes. And when you do so, a sense of wonder and quiet contentment begins to reappear in your life."~Mark Williams and Danny Pennman, from Mindfulness An Eight-Week Plan For Finding Peace In A Frantic World

Enjoy slowing down with your camera, paying full attention, observing beauty and curiosities many people pass right by. Your generosity of spirit and keen eyes may open the door to miniscule miracles and mirth others would not have access to otherwise. Feel free to include poetry, prose and thoughts your macro photo or series inspire(s) in you. Writing is completely optional for participation. Straight out of the camera (SOC), edited, color, black and white; anything goes as long as you bring the viewer near to whatever it is that attracted your heart and woke up delight.

It's time for YOU to share the love up-close with your

  1. Thank you Laura for the lilies of the valley..my favorite flower as a child..I remember hunting for them in the mulch when it was spring! And thank you for reminding me to stop and smell the flowers ( and even the weeds).

  2. Beautiful crisp colours in the first shot, with a lovely play of light and shadow. I like the dof in the second shot. Lily of the valley were my mom's favourite flowers, and your lovely photos bring back gentle memories for me.

  30. Oh!! What a lovely idea to host this!! Such beauty!

I love that in yours the shadow on the leaf is so crisp and the shadow idea echos in your poetry with the idea of spring being a fore-shadowing of summer. I love your descriptions, Laura a beauty-filled post as always!! ♥

  33. Lovely flowers! Makes me think of the song:

    White Coral Bells
    Upon a slender stalk
Lilies of the valley deck my garden walk
Oh, don't you wish that you might hear them ring?
That will happen only when the fairies sing.
