I Heart Macro Week 6

the gift of teaching
is the deep well of wisdom
each student offers

drop by precious drop
receiving what’s needed most
often a surprise

true learning unfolds
within that loving exchange
hearts and minds blossom

It is with tremendous gratitude that I return home, nourished and sated having had the privilege of giving and receiving as both teacher and student this past week at Isabella Freedman, with Rabbi Myriam Klotz and Rachel Dewan, all of the staff at IF and our students. In my life I have found that in truth, everyone is a teacher at certain moments, whether they realize it or not.

I apologize for not having an opportunity to visit your I Heart Macro entries from last week sooner... I cannot wait to see your offerings this week though.

Welcome to our sixth week of I Heart Macro

"Pure awareness transcends thinking... It allows you to look at the world once again with open eyes. And when you do so, a sense of wonder and quiet contentment begins to reappear in your life."~Mark Williams and Danny Pennman, from Mindfulness An Eight-Week Plan For Finding Peace In A Frantic World

It is time for YOU to share the love up-close with your
I Heart Macro offerings!

Shine the Divine

Enjoy slowing down with your camera, paying full attention, observing beauty and curiosities many people pass right by. Your generosity of spirit and keen eyes may open the door to miniscule miracles and mirth others would not have access to otherwise. Feel free to include poetry, prose and thoughts your macro photo or series inspire(s) in you. Writing is completely optional for participation. Straight out of the camera (SOC), edited, color, black and white; anything goes as long as you bring the viewer near to whatever it is that attracted your heart and woke up delight.

Please link back to my blog either using the button provided or by linking the words "I Heart Macro" back to my blog with this link: shinethedivinecreativityisaspiritualpractice.com. By sharing the link, visitors to your blog will learn about this meme and have a chance to participate as well if they so choose. S  p  r  e  a  d  the  LOVE. Thanks:-)

  18. So glad you had an edifying time Laura. Your Kalmias are gorgeous. Whenever mine flowers, I feel like picking the buds off and decorating a cake with them. Unfortunately I am not sure of the twisty provenance but they always look like pink icing to me. Thanks for reminding me about your meme.

  35. Hi Laura,

Thanks for hosting I Heart Macro. My photo blog is very new and I decided I should change the name of my blog from Photos By Jana to Jana's Photo Journal. So, I re-uploaded my flower photo with the corrected link. Could you please remove #14, which is a broken link?

    Thank you so much!

  41. Rozhodla som sa prispieť do tvojho projektu. Viem, že to nie sú pravé macro fotky. Možno sa mi niekedy podarí odfotiť niečo kvalitnejšie.

I decided to contribute to your project. I know that's not true macro photos. Maybe I ever manage to shoot something better.

    Your photos are beautiful.

  42. I just love the progression of flower pictures. Wonderful!

  43. I love your poem about teaching. It is always a honor to influence someone, to change their thoughts and maybe their patterns. Your macro meme is so infectious. I spend time trying to capture something up close. My photographic skills are lacking though. However, I do slow down and I do really look, and so I think I get the benefit of your prompt. Take care Laura. Glad you enjoyed the seminar.
