Creativity IS a Spiritual Practice

When we see through our hearts, we recognize that every single one of us is infused with creativity. Divine Sparks are embedded in everyone and everything. It's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Join me as we wake up to the sacred-ordinary blessings waiting to greet us each and every day.

purple stars

a thousand purple stars blurred in morning splendor
linked by a million neural fine threads we’ve grown
a single globe of love become a world all our own
twenty-five years balanced on this strong flexible
stem nourishing supporting a sacred reality still
laughing at the same old jokes that just never wear
out the comfortable groove etched between us where
we fall into that look  you know the one that’s always
enough to replenish the sweet honey-well age has not
 in the least bit diminished

romantic commitment may have sustained our youth
but we have learned to trust faith facing fate’s fists
pummeling our hearts intending to tenderize us it seems
we are impossibly kinder on this journey with no map
no compass except these same two hearts beating time
in tandem and you never falter as i crumble instead lift
with gentle arms designed i believe to give music make love
and carry me up the steps your wilted bride as evening falls
with my unsteady legs together we are a billion purple stars
igniting the horizon as one

shimmering across
the ocean wide our love danced
flowed east toward eden

All for Gordon, my beloved on this,
our 25th Wedding Anniversary,
Married June 4th 1988

The two of us last summer visiting dear friends in PA.
Three of them knew us before marriage,
and offered music at our wedding.
One was responsible for
reconnecting us after
Gord graduated
from college.

Stones gathered last summer from the same beach
where we honeymooned
all those years ago.
