Hakarat Hatov: Recognizing the Good #3

A new link for I Heart Macro 26 will open here on
Saturday Evening at 7pm EST
For the remainder of the month of November, I will post a photo (or perhaps a few) each day of something that invited me to pause and lifted up gratitude, joy, perhaps a quiver of awe in my heart the moment I stopped to be present and really see. By reviewing the image/images to share with you, the experience is engraved deeper in my consciousness, strengthening a reserve of gratitude and goodness to savor and draw upon when gloomy weather outside echoes inside, or vice versa. For me this is a devotional photographic journey for developing the soul quality of Hakarat Hatov… recognizing the good, a Jewish spiritual practice for cultivating gratitude. I may add writing some days, I may not, I’ll trust my inner compass to guide me.

I look forward to receiving your written patches of thanks for this year's

(Instructions for how to participate can be found at the top of this page.)

  3. Since I don't do emailings unless it's family only, I hope by putting my thoughts here will work...for 2013's quilt.

Here goes [my quilt piece is in italics, below]:

I am grateful for my life, my family, the sunshine that warms my heart, the chill on a winter's day that I know allows me to feel comfort in loving arms. I am grateful that my grandson, at the age of 5 months survived open heart surgery so I could watch him grow to an adult. Life is beautiful, and for that I am thankful!!

By the way, thanks for the invitation, but if this comment isn't what you wanted, and it should be through an email...then, forgive me.

Your photos and post are extraordinary.
