in stillness
one sees stars shine
upon a river's silk gown
diamond studded lace collar
adorns a muddy shore in waves
grandeur comes and goes
in unexpected moments
riding on the tide
of breath and
awareness

The bubbles were formed at the frothy edge of the Hudson river. I noticed our star, the sun, reflecting a starry night on the water and between the bubbles on a late afternoon walk down to the water while on retreat.
Being
gentle with myself when intention, strays, I acknowledge that complete surrender
of words in a world that is so beautiful is challenging for me. Quietude is
full, yet praise rises and language bubbles forth from the silence. I am
grateful for this life, for the gift of every sense door, for the blessing of
thoughts, attention, silence and speech. And even if my simple words cannot
fully express the majesty of experience, I am human and this is what we do, we
open our hearts, we gush, we praise, we say thank YOU. Then enter the hush
again, wait, listen for wholesome utterances longing for release. Returning to
quietude again and again. (Modah Ani means I thank YOU in Hebrew)

Your macro photos and your words were so poignant and beautiful. Some words do not breech quietude, I believe, but rather celebrate the peace and solace of quietude. Your poem is an example of that gentle celebration.
