I Heart Macro Week 32

I'm not a woman who wears diamonds on her fingers
I prefer iridescent dazzle ringed 'round twigs
edging autumn's last leaves radiant

priceless

The weather has warmed up considerably since I photographed these gems at the start of last week, with two snowstorms back to back, followed by a bit of sun then rain. The cold will resume soon I'm sure for winter solstice has arrived, is passing, perhaps will be gone as you look upon this page. Tomorrow, December 22, we will celebrate my beloved's fiftieth birthday! Each year I am reminded that his arrival on earth marks the steady return of light for everyone in the northern hemisphere. For me this is/has been true every morning for the past twenty-seven years opening my eyes and waking to his sweet face, any residual darkness that dares cling from the night clears away. He is my light is shining amour.

I love you Gordon.
Thank you for being the sparkle in my life!
 Happy Birthday handsome.

BLESSINGS FROM MY HEART FOR PEACE AND JOY to one and all at this sacred turning of time's wheel, honoring the many holy-day traditions and festivals around the world! May we all be bearers of love and light for one another, now and every day of the year.

Welcome to Week Thirty-Two of
I Heart Macro
"Pure awareness transcends thinking... It allows you to look at the world once again with open eyes. And when you do so, a sense of wonder and quiet contentment begins to reappear in your life."~Mark Williams and Danny Pennman, from Mindfulness An Eight-Week Plan For Finding Peace In A Frantic World

It is time for YOU to share the love up-close with YOUR
I Heart Macro offerings!

Shine the Divine

Enjoy slowing down with your camera, paying full attention, observing beauty and curiosities many people pass right by. Your generosity of spirit and keen eyes may open the door to miniscule miracles and mirth others would not have access to otherwise. Feel free to include poetry, prose and thoughts your macro photo or series inspire(s) in you. Writing is completely optional for participation. Straight out of the camera (SOC), edited, color, black and white; anything goes as long as you bring the viewer near to whatever it is that drew your heart's attention and "woke you up" to full presence.

  32. Hope Gordon had a spectacular birthday, Laura. What gorgeous shots. We're trying to recover from the ice storm here...if the sun had come out today, would have been too dazzling to imagine, but it continued to drizzle the icy stuff all day long. Wishing you and your family all the blessings, joy, and peace of the season. May 2014 be an inspired year for you.

  39. That has been really a busy year 2013. But definitely not only for me. I know absolutely nobody who's not tired at the end of 2013 and who's not keen on having some relaxing days with the family and our beloved ones during the Christmas holidays...
Happy birthday, dear Gordon! You are still younger than Brad Pitt (18.12. 50th anniversary) and even better looking. My own birthday in the wake of Gordon and Brad was somewhen between the two boys... ;-)
Thank you very much, Laura, for your many inspiring posts all year round!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Germany!
