One of the blessings I have taken to heart over the years, living
in a body that at times is very slow moving is the truth and gift of the old
saying "stop and smell the roses."
I am feeling so much better every day. I am able to take long walks
again on my own and today Gordon and I worked in the garden. Most of these
roses are from neighbor's gardens, except for the ones with dewdrops and the
petal resting on the earth.
I am still struggling a bit with my vision being blurry, especially when
reading and well, trying to focus my camera, so these may not be the most crisp
of images, but I find them lovely none the less. And believe me, the fragrance
from these beauties when photographing them up close was intoxicating.
I am deeply grateful for all of your kind comments and prayers for my
body to heal. Although I don't respond to most messages, please know that I
appreciate your compassionate words and feel the power of your heart felt
prayers. Truly this life is a blessing.
My cervical spine, like my brain showed no visible changes. I am
still waiting to hear results from my doctor regarding my thoracic spine
images. These would explain the spasticity if there are any visible lesions
there. However, even if the MRI does not show new scars, that does not mean
they are not there. They may be very small and cannot be picked up yet on the
scan. All I know is that something happened to my body five weeks ago, and I
still have some deficits that may or may not be permanent.
I can speak clearly now, I can walk five miles, the pain is not nearly
as severe, otherwise that would not be possible. The medicines are working and
I’m certain my yoga practice, meditation and exercising all help too. My
hearing was oddly diminished in my left ear after the spinal MRI series, but
that too is gradually improving. I am able to spend time cooking, preparing
meals with herbs from our garden. Our back porch is finally clean and set up
for enjoying evening meals with the family, and morning meditation and yoga
with the birds singing their morning prayers with me. LIFE IS GOOD.
