I Heart Macro 68

These droplets were difficult to photograph because there was a breeze left over that morning from the storm the night before. It took a lot of patience to pause and wait between breaths of wind for the grasses to still themselves before the next little gust stirred them again. This is a little pond just down the road from our house. The grasses grow right through the sand.

 the most precious jewels
are often found close to home
step outside and see

What is it that you most treasure in your life? Perhaps you do not need to step outside your door, but sit down quietly, open your heart and listen to the truth in this moment.

I'm so happy to have family coming to stay and the family that lives here all the time (temporary though that will be for my daughters). Family and friends who have become adopted family are truly the most precious jewels I can imagine, I am grateful for all of you. Although, nature offers some pretty amazing gifts that I do not take for granted either, I am so thankful to be living on this beautiful planet.

September is upon us, ready or not, here we are. The grasses and some leaves are beginning to take on their autumn hues, while blossoms are still offering their last summer hurrahs. I love this season of change, of shifting, of letting go, of transformation.

Welcome to Week Sixty-Eight of
I Heart Macro

"Pure awareness transcends thinking... It allows you to look at the world once again with open eyes. And when you do so, a sense of wonder and quiet contentment begins to reappear in your life."~Mark Williams and Danny Pennman, from Mindfulness An Eight-Week Plan For Finding Peace In A Frantic World

It is time for YOU to share the love up-close with YOUR
I Heart Macro offerings!

Shine the Divine

Enjoy slowing down with your camera, paying full attention, observing beauty and curiosities many people pass right by. Your generosity of spirit and keen eyes may open the door to miniscule miracles and mirth others would not have access to otherwise. Feel free to include poetry, prose and thoughts your macro photo or series inspire(s) in you. Writing is completely optional for participation. Straight out of the camera (SOC), edited, color, black and white; anything goes as long as you bring the viewer near to whatever it is that drew your heart's attention and "woke you up" to full presence.

  3. Don't know how you managed to get all those lovely photo with all the preparations you had to do. I certainly couldn't anymore.
Yes, we have to wait in stillness for the fairies to reveal their precious jewels to us and the pond is a wonder of clear light and stillness. A wonderful post indeed.

  15. I have always loved water droplets. When the light shines on them just right, they turn into jewels. The dew in the morning as the sun rises turn into thousands of water diamonds. It is a glorious sight. By the way, loving your black and white version.

  49. First of all I want to say terrific blog! I had a
quick question that I'd likke to ask if you do not mind.
I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing.
I've had a tough time clearing my mind in getting my
thoughts out there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15minutes
are lost just trying to figure out how to begin.
    Anyy recommendations or hints? Thanks!
