Hakarat Hatov: Nov 4 2014

Let's build a bridge no matter how fragile the world may be; connecting all beings everywhere with compassion, lovingkindness and peace, for these qualities are stronger than the darkness of hatred, misunderstanding and fear. Our world is a rainbow of cultures, personalities, beliefs, ideas, there is so much we can learn from one another when we listen and reach out in friendship.

I'm so grateful to be part of a worldwide event promoting peace. Thank you Mimi for organizing this each year! Click the One voice, One subject One day button it is a "bridge" that will link you to posts from other Peace Bloggers.

I do believe that cultivating gratitude within our own hearts each and every day is a very real way to promote peace throughout the world. As we change and become more loving and peaceful within, everyone we connect with picks up on this "good vibration" and it is passed from one soul to the next… and on and on.
Practice peace.
Teach peace.
Be peace.

Tending patience, gentleness, generosity and deep humility allows seeds of peace to G R O W.
I'd like to share a compassion training meditation with you from
with deep, deep gratitude for the work and research they are doing to plant seeds of peace in the world.

I encourage you to try this practice http://www.investigatinghealthyminds.org/audio/compassion.mp3 daily for the next two weeks, see for yourself if there is a shift within your  experience of peace and lovingkindness toward yourself and towards people in your life you love tenderly, people in your life you do not know well, people in your life who you struggle to get along with, people you have never met who share the planet with us.

If you are an American Citizen, please go out and vote today! Our freedom is a tremendous gift. Lifting our voices by voting with our hearts can be one more step toward peace here and everywhere.

Throughout the month of November, I will be posting a photo (or maybe a few) each day of something that invited me to pause and lifted up gratitude, joy, perhaps a quiver of awe in my heart the moment I stopped to be present and really see. By reviewing the image/images to share with you, the experience is engraved deeper in my consciousness, strengthening a reserve of gratitude and goodness to savor and draw upon when gloomy weather outside echoes inside, or vice versa. For me this is a devotional photographic journey for developing the soul quality of Hakarat Hatov, recognizing the good, a Jewish spiritual practice for cultivating gratitude. I may add writing some days, I may not; I’ll trust my inner compass to guide me.

I will include a link back to each Sunday’s I Heart Macro post so you can share the love up-close anytime during the week as usual.

I look forward to receiving your written patches of thanks for this year's
6th Annual Gratitude Quilt!
Everyone, including YOU is invited to participate.

(Instructions for how to participate can be found at the top of this blog.)
