Shine the Divine:

Creativity IS a Spiritual Practice

When we see through our hearts, we recognize that every single one of us is infused with creativity. Divine Sparks are embedded in everyone and everything. It's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Join me as we wake up to the sacred-ordinary blessings waiting to greet us each and every day.

Hakarat Hatov: November 1, 2014

For the past few years, I've had a tradition of designating November as Gratitude Month on my blog in preparation for American Thanksgiving, when I display the Gratitude Word Quilt that YOU will help me create!

Throughout the month of November, I will post a photo (or perhaps a few) each day of something that invited me to pause and lifted up gratitude, joy, perhaps a quiver of awe in my heart the moment I stopped to be present and really see. By reviewing the image/images to share with you, the experience is engraved deeper in my consciousness, strengthening a reserve of gratitude and goodness to savor and draw upon when gloomy weather outside echoes inside, or vice versa. For me this is a devotional photographic journey for developing the soul quality of Hakarat Hatov, recognizing the good, a Jewish spiritual practice for cultivating gratitude. I may add writing some days, I may not; I’ll trust my inner compass to guide me.

I will include a link back to each Sunday’s I Heart Macro post so you can participate anytime during the week as usual.

I look forward to receiving your written patches of thanks for this year's 6th Annual GratitudeQuilt!

(Instructions for how to participate can be found at the top of the blog.)

  4. Thank you Laura for the reminder of the Gratitude Quilt project . Thank you for that and for all that you do. We have so much to be grateful for and it is so important to remember that at a time when as you say there is so much darkness in the world.
