I Heart Macro 114

Razors of reason
Or no reason snap judgments
Stories in my mind

These edges I hide
Contemplate my softer side
Continue onward

Pale pinks and purples
Dot the edges of the road
I pause to notice

Seeing my own heart
Hidden between rough boulders
Daring to open

Leaning into love
This is where truth can be found
And healing begins

The month of Elul is a time of self-reflection, truth telling, examining our own hearts and habits, working toward change, turning toward others, asking forgiveness for the mistakes we have made, any hurt we have caused, leaning into love, doing our best to heal one relationship at a time.

Welcome to Week 114
I Heart Macro
"Pure awareness transcends thinking... It allows you to look at the world once again with open eyes. And when you do so, a sense of wonder and quiet contentment begins to reappear in your life."~Mark Williams and Danny Pennman, from Mindfulness An Eight-Week Plan For Finding Peace In A Frantic World

It is time for YOU to share the love up-close with YOUR
I Heart Macro offerings!

Enjoy slowing down with your camera, paying full attention, observing beauty and curiosities many people pass right by. Your generosity of spirit and keen eyes may open the door to miniscule miracles and mirth others would not have access to otherwise. Feel free to include poetry, prose and thoughts your macro photo or series inspire(s) in you. Writing is completely optional for participation. Straight out of the camera (SOC), edited, color, black and white, anything goes as long as you bring the viewer near to whatever it is that drew your heart's attention and "woke you up" to full presence.

  17. Dear Laura,
Your photos and words are so, so beautiful and tender!!! How much I love the pastel hues of the first flowers, the little white heart and these cute red dots in those pretty, little star blossoms!!! I've never seen one of these enchanting plants before. The first one reminds me of the blossoms from a bean plant.
I hope you enjoy wonderful late summer days and you have a good time!!!
    Lots of love and light,
    Katrin :)

  18. Your photos are lovely, Laura, and your poem touches my heart. I tried to do the Linky thing, but it didn't work.

  19. I am so woefully ignorant, but Elal is something I am happy to learn about. It is such a good idea. Beautiful words and photos as always, and that one pink flower looks like each petal is a shower of shooting stars. Thank you.

  20. As with the commenter above my comment (the first one) I have a lot of trouble with this form of Linky tool. As you probably guessed since I couldn't get it to accept a thumbnail. I wish I knew why! Because I love this meme soooo much! Thanks for doing it.

  21. You have such a gentle and loving spirit...well and beautifully said and photographed...Michelle

  22. I have no macro shots to share this week, but still would like to invite you to join the linkup at, and please join us each week for Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday)!
