Welcome To My Blog

Creativity Is A Spiritual Practice. I have come to think of this space as both a healing sanctuary and a Cyber-Art-Journal where I share and process my thoughts, feelings and experiences through words and images and you are invited to respond in the comments section below each entry. I view blogging as an art form unique to our era. Blogging combines my love for the interplay of words and images to tell stories, evoke emotions, find meaning and open to the sacred-ordinary details of living in an interactive format. Won't you join me as we explore this heart breaking-opening-expanding-learning-healing journey called LIFE together?

This is not a typical blog about creativity...
so what's with the title? As is inscribed in my header, I believe that when we see through our hearts, we recognize that every single one of us is infused with creativity. The Kabbalists  (Jewish mystics) taught that Divine Sparks are embedded in everyone and everything. Therefore, it's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Creativity is a spiritual practice every single day- at least it can be, if with each breath, every word we say, write or hold back, each stroke of a brush or stirring of a spoon, every musical note we play or body posture we shift into, each photo snapped, stitch pulled through, every exploration and discovery of what doesn't work and what does, if we pay attention and are present to the sacredness of our creative experiences. Relationships with our children, parents, life partners, friends and colleagues all require creativity; there is no way around it. To be Human, is to engage in acts of creativity. Spiritual awareness is optional. Practice, unavoidable.
