Shine the Divine:

Creativity IS a Spiritual Practice

When we see through our hearts, we recognize that every single one of us is infused with creativity. Divine Sparks are embedded in everyone and everything. It's up to us to be courageous, to look and listen deeply, to find the sparks, gather and release them back into the universe, transformed into something new. Join me as we wake up to the sacred-ordinary blessings waiting to greet us each and every day.

My life is filled with many blessings. Over the years I have had the pleasure of  creating my own art through fibers, collage, beading, photography, songwriting and in the last three years blogging as well! I have had wonderful experiences teaching art, yoga, meditation and Jewish spirituality classes to teens & adults, and in recent years I  have treasured time spent coaching individuals as they unlock their own soul's creative expression as well as facilitating SoulCollage®   one on one. I was blessed in October of 2010 by four of my teachers (all spiritual directors) to sit companionably in Spiritual Direction with others as a mentor. This feels like the natural path that my life's learnings have been leading toward. My greatest joy of course, comes from living with and loving my husband, daughters and our menagerie of animal companions. I also live with a chronic illness, Multiple Sclerosis. I’ve been ill with a variety of symptoms and received many different diagnoses over a period of 10 years but was only diagnosed with RRMS (relapsing remitting ms)  on September 3, 2009. This seems to tie all the other symptoms together and helps make sense of things. I  must say that as challenging as living with a chronic, disabling disease is, I feel as though MS has changed me for the better. That might seem an odd thing to say, but somehow as the neural connections in my central nervous system decrease, my compassion toward my own lived experience and toward all beings increases. For this I am deeply grateful. Blogging has become my favorite form of artistic expression since MS has entered my life full blast. It is accessible even when I am stuck in bed with the use of my MacBook and allows me to connect with beautiful people around the world. Talk about blessings! With that in mind I offer this to YOU:

May you be blessed with chesed (kindness).
May you be blessed with rachamim (compassion).
May you be blessed with simcha (joy).
May you be blessed with shalom (peace).
May it be so for all beings.
